Winner - Best Production for Children and Young People, Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland 2007

***** The Guardian

Seated on tables around the playing space, with a carton of juice and a jammy dodger, with performers and musicians moving around, above and amongst them, the audiences for Gobbo were part of the story from the start.

With a turbo charge of live music, Gobbo, a rhubarb-eating flatulant goblin was thrown unwillingly into a wild and anarchic adventure with his adventure-loving friend Globchan, his clever daughter Pixie Pumpkin and his banjo.

Vindictive Highland Dancers from hell, Zorro-style sword-fighting, an actual food fight (grapes provided) and an army of furious toy soldiers combined in a story which appealed equally to children and their parents, all created with the everyday objects you might find in any village hall.  Gobbo was inventive, witty, playful and sometimes very very scary.
